E.D.: “Looking at my number of attempts there’s a few things you can tell. The first: I’m not giving up. The second: I’m crazy enough to keep trying. The Dakar to me is an ultimate challenge. Entering with this car, a Volvo we build ourselves, certainly isn’t the easy way. But just because of that I believe I have to keep on trying. That’s what I owe the group of people who put their time, effort and dedication in this project. And for myself: I want to finish at least once. I know that it is possible. It has to happen. We have completely renewed the car after last year, amongst other things with a new power train and drive shaft and we’ve been test driving in Morocco for a week. I think we’ve never been so well prepared, so yes: it’s about time we make it to the finish.”
