Fabio Del Punta has been writing stories about the motorsports legends for more than 30 years as Director of two specialized magazines. As a journalist he has followed on spot more than 100 races of the WRC championship. A deeply off road passionate, Dakar has always been the reference for the Italian journalist. This year, the 51 years old Italian will finally be part of the great marathon from a privileged place: on the cockpit of the Can-Am (Class UTV Open) prepared by the RTeam. He will share this incredible adventure with Stefano Sinibaldi, his co-driver. Stefano started competing in 1991, inheriting this passion from his father. He has a Dakar participation under his shoulder (the 2016 edition) and his experience, together with the assistance of the RTeam, will be precious to reach the target: cross the finish line in Lima on January 17th.
“Dakar Rally is the place to be if you look for adventure and the ultimate racing competition. I have always wrote about motorsport and this year I will finally have the opportunity to be part of the rally on the competitor side. Instead of telling the stories of drivers, I will be the protagonist. This is already an incredible achievement, but for me this Dakar is more than a starting point. I really look forward to it. The Dakar is the only competition where the adventure, stamina and endurance remain the key elements. I will count on the support of my co-driver and the RTeam and together with them I really look forward to bring more Italian drivers to the competition in the near future”.
