A new chapter opens for Al Jafla
After a learning experience that ended with a 41st overall position back in 2021, Khalid Al Jafla had high expectations for his second Dakar. Driving a bigger and more powerful Toyota Hilux, his adventure had to stop well before the finish. The driver from Dubai is one of the most experienced men in the Middle-East. He indeed has several Abu Dhabi Desert Challenges under the belt and competed in all parts of the Middle-East including Saudi Arabia. A new chapter now opens for the 57-year-old Emirati who has decided to take part in the T3 Lightweight Prototype class. Al Jafla who competed in this year’s Dubai Baja in the same Can Am he’ll have for the Dakar will be counting on the experience of his new co-driver Andrei Rudnitski who has finished the rally 5 out of 6 times including last year in the T3 category alonsgide Maria Oparina.
KAJ: “The Dakar represented a dream for me. I decided to go for it when it moved to Saudi Arabia. I’ve been in motorsports since 2010 competing in cross-country rallies. I do it for fun but also for business. My goal on this Dakar is to finish in the Top 10.”
