‘Mister Dakar’, who was 2nd today behind the other Audi driven by Mattias Ekström, is still almost 4 hours behind the general rankings leader. The Frenchman will start in front of Sainz tomorrow, as will Ekström.
“Today, it was not a bad day for us. I think that we finished second on this stage. But at the end of the first part of the stage Mattias Ekström overtook us and he woke me up a little bit because I was at a good speed but not enough to win the stage. So, after that I tried to follow him, but it was really too dusty and then he was really fast. It was an interesting day, for Audi and also for Carlos. I think that he gained a few minutes again over Sébastien Loeb, so this is a good position for the team. Still, four days left is not easy. We know that anything can happen on each kilometre, so we’ll keep crossing our fingers”.
