The 31-year-old Spaniard Cristina Gutiérrez is the female icon of the Dakar. She made history two years ago when she became the first woman to win a stage since Jutta Kleinschmidt in 2005. That same year, she claimed the 2021 FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies with the Red Bull Off-Road Team. Now at the wheel of a Can-Am T3, the third-placed driver in the last Dakar will settle for nothing less than victory.

"I'm super-excited and itching to start. It's a new team, a new car… It's my seventh Dakar, but it feels like the first. We just had a week of pre-race tests in Dubai. The atmosphere in the team is great even though we have several title contenders under one roof. We share wonderful moments and I learn from the others…"
