“After the forty minutes that we lost yesterday it's not bad to be third today”

Dakar 2019 | Stage 8 | San Juan de Marcona > Pisco
January 15 th 2019 - 14:49 [GMT -5]

One day is very much not like another for Sébastien Loeb. After a difficult stage hindered by electrical problems, the man from Alsace was head and shoulders above the rest on the Super Ica stage. Despite a minor puncture after 6 km, Loeb won the eighth stage of the rally more than seven minutes ahead of Nasser Al-Attyah. This result has sent up to third place in the general standings, only sixteen seconds behind Nani Roma.

“It was a very good day. There was just a puncture after 6 kilometres, I think, and we had to change the wheel immediately at the beginning of the stage, so that’s a bit annoying, but after that we drove a good stage. We made a little mistake on one way point that we were looking for during two or three minutes, but for the rest it was a very good stage. After the forty minutes that we lost yesterday it's not bad to be third today. So we'll see, there are two more stages to go”.
