After a disastrous day during which he lost more than one hour to Brock Heger, Xavier De Soultrait set himself back on track today. The Frenchman finished stage five in third place to consolidate is second position in the general rankings.
“It was super cool, because from the first day to yesterday we were leading the race. Yesterday we had a little technical issue, so we lost a little bit more than one hour, but it’s like that; the Dakar is really hard. It was too easy for us. Everything was going well from the start and then yesterday we had this little problem but last year we lost one hour on the first week and then we won by two minutes. So, we won’t give up and we’ll push as much as we can to win again”.
