Dakar 2025 | Stage 3 | BISHA > AL HENAKIYAH
January 7 th 2025 - 16:47 [GMT + 3]

The American was 3rd on the day’s special, 1’48’’ behind his team-mate Saood Variawa, but is 35’15’’ back in the general rankings after getting stuck in the sand on the 48 HR Chrono stage, showing that, like his young South African colleague, he has experienced ups and downs before a day of redemption in Al Henakiyah.

“It was not so bad today. We didn’t have the best road position, we had a little bit of dust, but we really but in a good push there at the end. Unfortunately, we had a slow puncture and had to change that about 40 km ago. I think that might have cost us the win, but it was good to impress, make up some time and get a better road position. I opened over 300 km of the Chrono stage, so I’m not worried about it, I’ll open any day of the week. There’s been a big shake up. It just shows that it doesn’t matter how good you are, you can’t make mistakes. It’s unfortunate for those guys, but hopefully they’re all good”.
