Cristina Gutiérrez: "We managed to tap the full potential of the car"

Cristina Gutiérrez, third in the 2022 Dakar in the T3 category, was driving her factory Can-Am tuned by South Racing (Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team by BFG) for the first time in a competitive setting today. She and her new vehicle landed an auspicious win.

"The atmosphere in the team is great. I'm very upbeat and pleased with the car. Of course, this is the best possible start for the car and for the Dakar, but the real opening stage comes tomorrow, so let's wait a bit before we start patting ourselves on the back. It's very different from my previous car. I had to tweak my driving style and go through the entire car and all the parts they offered us. At the end of the day, I think we managed to tap the full potential of the car, and that's what matters. I feel confident right now."
