Francisco ‘Chaleco’ López: “I’ve never had a first week as difficult as that”

‘Chaleco’ López has been out of luck since the rally’s start but picked up his first stage victory in Ha’il. Even though he trails the category leader Brock Heger, the Chilean is not ready to throw in the towel.

“It’s my fourteenth Dakar and I’ve never had a first week as difficult as that. But the race still goes on. We’re going to take it one day at a time and focus on doing a good job… The Dakar is the Dakar…”
