The Red Bull Off-Road Jr Team picked up a one-two finish thanks to the American Leaverton and Portuguese driver Guerreiro. Quintero and Guthrie seem to have an heir apparent!
“We had a few minutes after we crossed the finishing line of the prologue and the Red Bull guys were there checking things on iPads for a couple of minutes. We found out about five minutes later that it was a one-two for me and Gonçalo for the Red Bull Junior Team and it looks like all the top five with my team-mates here in BBR cars. It’s a testament to the hard work they put in and the capability of this cars and I think it’s very good to make the Off-Road Red Bull Junior Team proud. They put in a lot of time, effort, money and everything for me and Gonçalo to come a long way from home to do the biggest off-road race in the world. I’m so thankful to them and our other partners like BFG. They’ve trusted us with a big task and we want to perform and at least for the prologue we have. We hope we can go and perform for another twelve days. There will be much harder stages than the little prologue we did today, but overall, it was very nice to get that one done and we’re looking forward to the rest of the stages”.
