José Ignacio Cornejo: “Everybody knows their job and everybody does it very well”

Though he has never climbed onto the podium, José Ignacio Cornejo boasts six top 10 places in nine participations on the Dakar. The Chilean could even have won in 2021 were it not for a fall that brought his race to a premature end not far from the rally’s finish. After six editions in Honda colours, his tenth Dakar will see ‘Nacho’ taking part on a Hero team bike. “I’m very happy to be facing my first Dakar with Hero Motors Sports. The team is looking very good. There are a lot of experienced people inside the team, so everything is working very smoothly. It is a bit smaller in terms of the quantity of people, but everybody knows their job and everybody does it very well, so I’m quite happy”.
