- Vasileios Boudros has always been in or around a bike workshop, on or around a motorbike. His grandfather was specialized in BMW spare parts. His parents met in his grandfather’s workshop. He grew up just outside of Athens playing with spark plugs and oil.
- And then came the riding from the young age of 8 on his mum’s scooter and later on a motorcycle his grandpa gave him when he was 12. That eventually took him to off-road racing and when he first competed in a rally, all he had in mind was the Dakar.
- In his late thirty’s and before turning forty he decided to gift himself with a participation to the World’s toughest rally and managed to finish it (70th) in 2022.
- He decided to return two years later after a discussion with his best friend telling him that he would never dare doing it the hard way: the Original by Motul way with absolutely no assistance. Alone on his Husqvarna the rider from Athens lived the Dakar at its fullest and despite suffering, despite spending endless nights, including one in the dunes, he again reached the finish in 81st position.
- That experience of a lifetime pushed him to return once again, still with no assistance last January. Extremely busy in his everyday life as the owner of a tour operating company that takes riders on enduro trips, enjoyed another epic journey that finished with a great 53rd spot.

V.B.: “Dakar 2025 was amazing. I had no injuries and no major things going the wrong way except a couple of days when I was really lost. I just rode to enjoy the race and the competition. We had some close calls and some night riding on long stages but still it was part of the game and I really enjoyed it. As far as the next Dakar, if I can ask something from myself it would be to just have a clean rally. Enjoy. Have fun. Not get lost. Definitely not to have crashes and be in pain. Just try to make my 53rd spot turn to 45. Nothing more. I don’t expect much. I just want to have fun. Every year it’s becoming like my vacation. I want to dive into this experience once again and enjoy riding. That’s it. I have a new bike and I’m looking forward to it.”
