“I used to call my mom Ariella with the nickname ‘Ari Vatanen’ when I was a kid. This story tells a lot about how I grew up with the myth of the Dakar. I was a fan of the Peugeot, the Citroen and then it came the era of the legendary Mitsubishi Evolution and I’m happy to own one of those cars. I’m lucky because at RalliArt I can combine my passion with my work. Last year was my first Dakar and the highlight was seeing the face of my father at the finishing line. To have achieved such an adventure together it’s a dream come true and this year I’m back. The target? Cross the finish line in Lima with all the crews of the R Team! We have being working hard to prepare the vehicles at the best. They will be our home for 2 weeks. The Dakar Rally is so special: when you are in the race you look forward to the end, but as soon as it finishes you start dreaming of starting again.”
