- Many have compared roaming the desert with sailing… But what about gliding? A 3-time Italian champion in the discipline, Guido Dalla Rosa Prati returns to the Dakar for his second participation after the Saudi desert left a striking impression on him in 2022.
- “I fell in love”, the entrepreneur says. He even wrote a poem, “La Divina Dakar”, to celebrate an experience “so great that it seems a fantasy”.
- The 2025 edition of the most iconic rally-raid shall be exhilarating for him again as the Dalla Rosa Prati bring their legacy to the Saudi desert with a father-daughter crew.

- Maria Vittoria is much more than Guido Dalla Rosa Prati’s co-driver: She’s his daughter and she’ll share the driving duties with her father as she takes on her first Dakar in the Classic category.
- Inspired by her “crazy, very adventurous family”, the young CEO follows her father tracks, in the air (she’s working on her flying license) and in the Saudi desert. “I was basically born in the airplane”, she says. “My mom lost the water after my dad made her do three loops with a glider.”
AMBITIONS 2025
G.D.R.P.: “With my glider I have flown almost every sky in the world, but I had never seen the desert of Saudi Arabia. Participating in the Dakar 2023, I fell in love with it, dazzled by its colours, golden dunes and the magic of a sweet and boundless image that accompanies you throughout the journey.
I have no ranking ambitions, I just want to enjoy a wonderful adventure this year with my daughter Maria Vittoria. There is no more beautiful experience than sharing with a daughter the fascination of a long and difficult ride in the desert with tent, backpack and lots of love. It will remain in us an immense memory and forever. I often go to my friend Stefano Calzi's workshop because seeing the car allows me to anticipate a wonderful emotion by cradling the dream of it. The stars of the Saudi desert will be a life defining experience for my daughter and I.”
M.D.R.P.: “Actually, my dad initially wanted to take me and my sister to the Dakar. I was more flexible, so I jumped in, but I always thought it could be a unique adventure to spend together. He always told me it’s not just the driving through the desert that will be special. It will be an adventure and there’s everything that there is around it: the preparation, the bivouac, the hot, the cold… It’s a whole adventure. And I’m happy to come along, to challenge myself. It’s really interesting to give it my all.
He could take me to the moon, I would follow him without an hesitation. Growing up, I was used to him flying around the world to gliding competitions. The Dakar was a new thing and I remember his enthusiasm, how he sent us videos to share his experience. I edited a video recollecting the whole thing, so in some ways I was kind of part of it. But now I’m very gassed to share this adventure for real.”
