Xavier De Soultrait: “I’m really happy to experience this first time”

Xavier de Soultrait has won stage six ahead of Yasir Seaidan and has regained one minute on the general rankings leader. Halfway through the Dakar, the Sébastien Loeb Racing team driver is in third place, hot on the heels of American Sara Price and eight minutes behind the Saudi driver.

“It was the first time for the 48-hour chrono on the Dakar. I’m really happy to experience this first time. I’ve spent a lot of time in Arabic-speaking countries and I’m not Arabic, I’m not Muslim, but I feel like a Bedouin nomad, you know, and yesterday we were like they are. We cooked our own food around the fire. It was a good moment at the camp”.
