Fifth place in the special catapulted Sherco's Spaniard to the same position in the general standings, 10 minutes behind leader Sam Sunderland.

"It was a mammoth special, but I remained laser-focused on my goal. I rode alongside Danilo Petrucci, who set a blistering pace. He surprised me. It was a good stage for me. I didn't make any big mistakes. I've been feeling well from the beginning. It's important to hover around this place, not at the very top, but near the best. I'm in a good overall position, which boosts my confidence. I couldn't have asked for a better scenario. Sherco is making progress year after year. We're not the biggest brand, but that doesn't stop us from doing well. We're on the right track."
