"Monsieur Dakar" grabbed his 75th Dakar stage win today, reaching Arequipa in third place overall 7'03" behind Nasser Al-Attiyah.
"It was a nice stage, with tough dunes and tricky navigation: hard-to-find waypoints in the valleys. It was a quintessentially Peruvian stage and the sign of things to come in the next few days. We were a bit distracted yesterday and I made a rare mistake, but that's water under the bridge now. It's crucial to avoid any sort of trouble during the marathon stage. It's exactly what cost me the Dakar last year."
