Adrien Van Beveren: “It’s a tough outcome, but I really gave it my all”

Following a scenario that he feared, the Yamaha rider lost the lead in the general rankings and has even dropped off the podium which is starting to settle into its final form. He is now in 4th place on the eve of the end to the rally, 15’30’’ behind Sam Sunderland, the new race leader.

“After 4 kilometres I looked for a waypoint that didn’t open… I’m not sure it was in the right place. I lost a lot of time, that got me cross and I sped off. I was at 200% and I gave myself a few frights, so I calmed down. After that, I nearly ran out of petrol. It’s a tough outcome, but I really gave it my all. It’s true that the guys in front didn’t try to help me. I have no regrets”.
