Martin Macík: “I think I was expecting something else”

 Martin Macík, the winner of the 2024 edition, is tackling his thirteenth Dakar with number 600, the race number attributed to the truck category title holder. This status brings more confidence than pressure for the Czech driver. Martin, who is satisfied with the progress of the Evo 4 produced by the workshops of his own company MM Technology, achieved the third best time on the prologue, giving him an ideal position to tackle the first stage of the rally.

 “I think I was expecting something else… It’s good that there is no pressure, that the prologue always gives the timing for the first stage… Behind me, you can see our Evolution 4, as we call it. In fact, it’s an update of our winning truck from last year and it’s the best one we’ve ever built…”
