The bivouac is a work area located between the finish and start time checks.

It is a controlled and secured closed area for private use as part of the Dakar Rally. Access to the bivouac is limited to people who have obtained accreditations from the organiser.

Between 2,500 and 3,000 people gather there daily:

Competitors and their support crews: assistance between competitors still in the race and vehicles or people registered in the assistance category is allowed.

Organiser:

o    Organisers,

o    Officials in charge of officiating at the competition,

o    The medical team,

o    Media corps: TV production teams, digital teams, journalists, photographers…

- Partners, setting up services for the competitors,
