The bivouac is a working area located between the finish time controls and the start of a stage. It is a controlled and secured closed surface area, for private use as part of the Dakar Rally, access to which is exclusively and uniquely reserved for all persons accredited by the Organizer.
Between 2,500 and 3,000 people gather there daily:
- The competitors and their assistance crews
Assistance between competitors still in the race and vehicles and / or persons entered in the assistance category is allowed.
- The organisation:
o The organizers,
o The race marshals, officiating the competition,
o The medical staff,
o The media corps: TV production teams, digital teams, journalists, photographers…
- The partners, setting up services for the competitors,
- The guests
