- Renato Rickler del Mare heads into yet another Dakar - his 16th vous with the world’s most iconic rally-raid - with a “special role”: he faces the 2025 edition not only as a driver, but also as the manager of R Team, lining up eight vehicles for this edition.
- His fast years are behind him, Renato assures, but the Dakar Classic got him back into action in 2024, when he accompanied his friend Giulio Bertolli’s first participation.
- His first ambition is to be as close as possible to the different members of his team and to have fun the desert with his many Dakar friends and relatives, including his son Ricky.

- At 51 years old, Massimo Gabbrielleschi gets aboard for his first participation in the Dakar Classic but he’s already been part of the mechanics supporting the R Team at the bivouac.
- This time, he’ll be cared for by his colleagues as he sides by Renato Rickler del Mare, the head of R Team. But he’s also here to lend a hand to any contender facing a struggle!
2025 AMBITIONS
M.T.: “I have a bit of a special role, because I am a team manager at the same time as I get behind the wheel. Being a driver is something a little bit of the past for me, but last year I did the Dakar Classic and I had a lot of fun. So, this year I've decided to come back to the race because I'm going to be a bit of a guardian angel to all my crews.
I’ve entered eight cars, I have friends who race and I prefer to do the route so that if any of them need me, I'll give them a hand, I'll help them and I'll put myself at their disposal. My real purpose is not the competition. I’m here for the whole group and the help I can give my crews. And last year, it also led to a good result, so hopefully it can happen this year again.
Massimo is a friend, first of all. We’ve been working together for 30 years now but this is his first Dakar as a contender. And secondly, he’s a very good mechanic, so he can be useful to help the others.”
