- Top drivers need competent fast assistance, and so X-raid Team has once again enlisted the services of Michael Baumann in his MAN TGA 11 truck. Owner of a motorcycle shop (ERC- Baumann) in Grasbrunn, Michael comes from a motorcycle background. But it’s driving a truck that he demonstrates the full extent of his talent.
- The 54-year-old German has already worked with legendary drivers in the past, and participated in the historic success of Carlos Sainz and Audi last year. This time, he will have to take care of some podium chasers, like Guillaume de Mévius and Guerlain Chicherit.

- Philipp’s love for the Dakar goes back to his childhood in the 90s, when he watched the race on television. He joined the bivouac at the age of 24, in 2009, fulfilling a dream. Philipp has been there every year since this date. Let’s say that he’s one of the most experienced German competitors in the bivouac.
- As a technical engineer, Philipp is precise and methodical. A good point for his co-driver work, which he has been doing for four years alongside his friend Michael. Together, they contributed to Audi’s 2024 victory, and they will now try do the same with X-raid drivers.
2025 AMBITIONS
M.B.: “The last Dakar was very good for us because Audi, for which we were responsible, won. As always, we approach the matter in a relaxed manner. For us, it is a successful Dakar when we are where we are needed, and when we can help there.”
P.B.: “The 2024 edition was very impressive with the Empty Quarter desert, but also incredibly difficult to drive for us with the race truck. Our main focus will be to provide a good help for all X-raid Team vehicles.”
