March 22 nd 2017 - 10:17

The Dakar organisers are joining the campaign promoted by the Peruvian government #UnaSolaFuerza, which is developing a solidarity plan to respond to the urgency of the situation defined by the authorities of the country.

The reunion with Peru on January, for the 40th edition of the rally will asure intense and emotional moments. Discovering the Ica desert made an impact on the riders and crews in 2012 and 2013. In January, they will have the opportunity to surf, once again, on these dunes that pose a demanding and varied challenge. Then a new version of the Andes trilogy will come, with the exploration of the two faces of Lake Titicaca to celebrate the entry of the rally in Bolivia.

After Lima, a second capital will host the Dakar, 4,000 metres higher, for the rest day in La Paz. The adventure will continue on the Bolivian Altiplano, before an equally selective phase of the race in heading to Argentina. The changing landscape of the country can be approached on this straight shot, with the finish line at a prestigious destination for all rally aficionados.
