“We promise low but want to deliver high…”
They show up in what could possibly be the most spectacular vehicle of the 2014 Dakar. Matthew Campbell, Luiz Ramirez and Nicolas Ambriz will be onboard the custom JIMCO three seat race car of team El Martillo Racing. For his first ever experience on the Dakar, Canadian Matthew Campbell, a very successful businessman in agriculture and construction has done things the right way: a fast Baja style car and a strong team around him including Luiz Ramirez, seven-time Mexican offroad champion who will be sharing the driving and navigator and mechanic Nicolas Ambriz who is the prep specialist at El Martillo Racing. With no experience of races like the Dakar, their ambition is high: they come to win.
M.C.: “The Dakar is the ultimate challenge. I've been following it for years. I've been involved in racing in Mexico for years. We've spent the entire year building a new car for the Dakar. We promise low but want to deliver high. We have the car, we have the drivers, now our main concern is the navigation. We can cope with everything else. …”
L.R.: “I'm always looking for bigger challenges, and Dakar is my dream to conquer, I'm proud to represent Mexico and honored to be part of El Martillo Racing”
