“A life project and dreamed wish”
Slovenia already had a warrior on the Dakar in Milan Stanovnik. A young and promising new rider will show up on the rally in 2014. Slovenian Simon Marcic will discover the Dakar at age 32 after competing in multiple enduro and cross-country races back home and around Europe. He knows that the Dakar is a whole different story and he'll need to remain calm and composed, especially after going through shoulder surgery in September.
“My father bought me a 125cc dirt bike in 1998 after I had got good grades at school and after I had already smashed a 50cc moped, riding enduro. So riding bikes goes way back. The Dakar is a real challenge for me. A life long project and dreamed wish. I prepared for the rally by competing in the 2013 European regional enduro championship and winning in class E1. I also raced in the Slovenian enduro championship (vice champion) and Slovenian cross-country cup (vice champion)”
