Dakar 2009 : Viajes - Transporte aéreo

Dear competitors, dear assistants

You have purchased air tickets for the Dakar 2009.

Here are several information you have to know about air transportation to South America.

 

E-tickets

Your return electronic tickets from Europe to Buenos Aires are nominative. The person in charge of the group will receive by e-mail an itinerary with ticket numbers on.

Tickets are non refundable in the event of passengers’ cancellation (withdrawal, anticipated return, or for any other reason…)

Changes are not permitted. Spelling of passengers’ names on the air tickets must be the same as on passports.

 

Customs

For French citizens: normal passports valid at least 6 months beyond date of departure from south America.

For foreign citizens: please get in touch with your own embassy.

 

Check-in

Passengers are required to go to the airport at least 2h30 before take-off. Please show your passport to the airline desk to get your boarding pass.
Anticipate crowds due to the Dakar Rally and the yuletide!

 

Schedules

Schedules may change upon airlines needs.

 

Luggage

• Luggage holder: 2 pieces maximum (23 kg each),
• Cabin: 1 piece maximum (3 dimensions must not exceed 120 cm). You are allowed to take a laptop with its case. Ladies are also allowed to keep their handbags in cabin.

Every valuable item must be put in your cabin luggage to avoid any loss.

 

New security measures

Every item that might be used as a weapon is forbidden in aircrafts (nail files, knives, scissors…).

Accommodation

If you have booked hotels with V.S.O., please note that your e-vouchers will be sent by e-mail to the person in charge of the group as given on the application form.
