Krzysztof Jarmuz : «The longer it is, the better»
Krzysztof Jarmuz is among those new riders on the Dakar who already seem to know the rally: its spirit, specificity, difficulties and happiness... He finished 10th overall in is first rally, the 2007 Shamrock. This year he Krzysztof put in a promising 31st place performance on the Dakar Series Central European Rally, “good training as it concerns riding in the mountains”. On the Dakar, Krzysztof will apply the precepts of the advice from his older team mates from the Polish national team, Marek Dabrowski and Jacek Czachor, from the Orlen team: “Don’t go too fast, run at my own pace and not necessarily at 100% of my abilities.”
A priori the length of the rally won’t pose any problems for this proven enduro rider. He has a tendency to say “the longer it is the better”. He only really fears “the tremendous heat” of the Argentinean and Chilean summer that could destabilize his plans that are “more technique than speed”, and prohibit him from attaining his goal of “finishing in the top 30.”
