Robert Randysek : « First the car, then my race»
Robert Randysek is an enthusiast. Enthralled by sand and adventure, he has the impression, with the Dakar, of taking part in a grass roots movement that is growing stronger in his country. “Each year there are more and more potential Czech Dakar participants”, remarks Robert Randysek. “This race is tremendously popular in the Czech Republic, and the country’s economic situation has allowed, just until now, to believe other Czechs will try their luck.” Robert, who will drive the Man of the Czech Offroadsport CZ team, is already living the race at full speed and he says he will “always do the most” to help the car he is to assist. “First the car, then my race”, concludes Robert. This makes sense when you remember that the n° 340 Mitsubishi L200 of Miroslav Zapletal finished 9th on the Dakar Series Rally of Central Europe, ahead of Robby Gordon and Stéphane Henrard. Robert isn’t excluding, if possible, to run his race as well. He will rely on the experience gained in a T5 in 2007, in this his first Dakar as well as a level headed approach to the rally. “The big teams are untouchable. However, I think I can finish somewhere in the middle of the pack in the truck class. A 25th or 30th result would be positive.”
Veteran co-driver but firs time Dakar participant Vladimir Nemajer and Miroslav Zapletal’s young and talented mechanic Roman Siska complete the all Czech line-up.
