Emanuel Gyenes: "Tougher than the other Dakars"
“I want to finish”. Emanuel Gyenes doesn’t speak a lot. But he has clear ideas. The Dakar is a business he takes very seriously and despite a record that is starting to develop, one of the Vectra team members doesn’t show excessive ambitions. Proof that he is a really promising rider. “Mami” his nickname, can count on a real potential. At only 24 years of age he has already impressed through his skill in enduro events. A double Romanian champion of the discipline in 2005 and 2007, he managed to make the switch to off-road rallies without trembling. As soon as 2007, he finished his first Dakar as 9th best newcomer. In 2008, his appearance at the Pharaohs Rally confirmed his master ship. He finished 6th and clinched the best time of the 3rd stage. Well settled in the team and confident of his capacities, Emanuel Gyenes is probably ready to impress on the toughest race there is. But he however remains extremely cautious: “It’s a new Dakar and I believe that’s why it’ll be even harder”.
