Eric Carlini: « I am capable of motivating people»
He campaigned for the quad for 15 years. Just as much at his base in Corsica as at the Royère domain in the French Lubéron region where he conducts motivational training sessions for companies like Canal +, Coca-Cola, Europe Assistance and Leroy Merlin. A man of many sports, the former judoka and bronze medallist in the world jet-ski championship, comes to the Dakar in a fairytale setting. «Of course, I always thought about the Dakar. But I thought it needed a massive amount of preparation. I never had the time to do it. The Ceo of Polaris Europe told me,’ you will be a part of the team we are putting together‘. It was then that I relaxed. » Eric has adapted his fitness program since that day last June, for the January event and has sought out advice. «I called some people I know. Cyril Despres gave me a lot of pointers as did Luc Pagnon. What I understand is that you have to be more than physically ready. There’s a tremendous mental demand on a Dakar. » As a member of Team Polaris, Eric Carlini has everything he needs and will try to live up to his reputation. «I love life, I’m a winner. I am capable of motivating people. This is another reason I am participating. » Along with Elisabeth Kraft and Pietro Fogliani, Eric will serve team leader, Hubert Deltrieu, but that doesn’t exclude anything. «The goal is for all four of us to go all the way. I just want to finish. Beyond that, this is a human adventure and anything can happen. »
