Brice Auert: “To finish the Dakar with my father”
He will certainly not take on the adventure alone. But his father, “who has dreamed about it for more than 20 years”, offered to go along with him on a quad. Both are setting off towards Buenos Aires with a single goal of living out a dream, together.
His father, Jean Claude has been riding quads for nearly ten years. He initiated the pleasure of riding and Brice followed suit. To prepare for their Dakar, they witnessed several rallies: Morocco, Egypt, Hungary, Portugal. Their impressions: “We suffered every type of breakdown, every possible technical problem. It helped us a lot. We feel a lot more prepared today. We adapt, we manage to cope with our stress and we also learn that you always need a second chain in case the first one breaks”.
Like his father, Brice is an architect and often volunteers his services to humanitarian activities around the world. With the “electricians without borders”, network he provides electricity to schools and hospitals. His last mission to date took him to Nepal to install solar panels. “The villages are only accessible by foot through the mountains. We have to leave for 4 days, carrying the solar panels ourselves and sleeping in the heart of the mountains”.
In South America, Brice won’t stop his humanitarian commitment. For every kilometre covered by him and his father, a donation will be made to ‘Electricians without borders’.
