Experience the rally at first hand and follow in the wake of the competitors on their way to Dakar: the various travel opportunities proposed by V.S.O. make this possible. The programmes on offer, which guarantee contact with the caravan, may be adapted according to group numbers and the duration or the level of comfort desired by the participants. For example, depending on the destination, competitors or sponsors can opt for a minimalist environment in the heart of the desert or the cosy comfort of a hotel room.

MOROCCO: GATEWAY TO THE DESERT

The 2008 Dakar allows the competitors to discover Morocco in all its diversity. From the foothills of the Atlas Mountains to the dunes, the spectrum of shifting landscapes and colours is extensive. V.S.O. can arrange further programmes, including packages even for smaller groups.

MAURITANIA: SAND GALORE

At the halfway point in the competition, a preliminary ranking is already established. Meet up with the crews on the rest day and take stock of their intermediary positions with them, hear of their thrills and their disappointments, reflect upon the approaching objective.

Two trips are scheduled between the 12^th and the 14^th of January in Nouakchott. Along with a privileged day spent with the competitors the wide open spaces of the Sahara will be on the programme.

SENEGAL: SEE LAC ROSE

With the rally’s arrival in Senegal, the change in scenery is radical. The tropical forest, the laterite tracks and “Kirikou” style villages contrast sharply with the aridity of the desert. Whether in the depths of Senegal or in Dakar, it is another way of life and a distinct culture that accompanies the last part of the race.

To celebrate the arrival of the most valiant competitors, several options are available for interested sponsors, between the 18^th and the 21^st of January, with an obligatory passage at Lac Rose to share in the action of the finish. Accommodation is provided in part at the Club Med situated at Pointe des Almadies: this is a package devoted to celebration and recreation.
