OUTSIDE FRANCE

Global television coverage remains strong, and is closely tied to the rally’s international success and the support that national television stations give to competitors from their country. Approximately 600 hours of programming is planned for 2007.
Over 75 channels in almost 180 countries will broadcast daily highlights from the rally, through a 26-minute show produced by A.S.O. and transmitted every evening from the bivouac. Staff from over 25 foreign television channels will be in the bivouac to record shows covering the Dakar rally and the performance of their countries’ competitors.

A.S.O. will offer the following in the main Dakar rally countries.

  • For mobile phone and website operators, services allowing users and subscribers to view video clips of race highlights in 5 different languages (French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch), live content, results, and rankings.
  • For websites, a service using IriTrack technology that enables enthusiasts to track racers’ positions in real-time. Competitors’ families and partners will be able to personalise the IriTrack application to track only the drivers of their choice, and follow the rally by SMS or e-mail with these drivers’ times.
  • Finally, fans will be able to play the new version of the Official 2007 Dakar Mobile Phone Competition on their mobile phones.

With 7 countries visited, two months of touring, 1000 people encountered, the2007 Dakar promotional tour will remain a fantastic souvenir for both organisers and competitors alike.
We would particularly like to thank our foreign correspondents who helped us to organise these presentations, current Dakar and future Dakar competitors with whom we exchanged various ideas and of course the teams and sponsors of the Euromilhoes Dakar 2007.
