Yannick Guyomarch: “To know that my friends are proud of me”
Yannick Guyomarch has twice dropped out of the Dakar. In 2004, with a poorly prepared motorcycle, this fireman didn’t make it to Africa. Last year he stood out in helping a number of competitors in the African dunes. During one very hard special stage he was hit by a motorcycle, which caused a sprain to one of his thumbs. In spite of the pain, he kept riding just until his bike finally couldn’t go any further. Needless to say, this year, this rider is waiting impatiently for the start in Lisbon. Once again he’ll be supported by his father and the entire fire brigade in Paris, Yannick will set off with a mission of giving it all he has to live up to the hopes of his family and all his colleagues. He will also not be forgetting his humanitarian obligations in Morocco where he has been very active since 1999 with an association he helped to start and which he is still president.
