The changes made to the regulations for 2006 have been guided by the ongoing will to improve the safety of the competitors and public.

Apart from this priority objective, certain measures will facilitate the coordination of the event, most notably by giving all of the teams the opportunity to put their navigational skills and intuition to good use.

The system implemented will help reduce inequalities between professional and amateur entrants.
