How to register

To participate in the Dakar adventure, these are the steps you must follow…

To register, simply complete and sign an application form available on-line (download).

To ensure that your entry is accepted and confirmed, you must enclose with the signed application form (signed by all team members) the following items :

• 2 PHOTOS for each person,
• A PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR DRIVING LICENSE,
• A PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR PASSPORT,
• A CHEQUE for the first payment or a copy of the bank transfer.

Warning: the number of Auto/Truck assistance vehicles is also limited to 200. Here also, registrations will be accepted in the order they are received.

To ensure motorcyclists get the best possible service for the transport of their equipment (trunk and two wheels) in the organiser's plane, A.S.O. has had to limit the number of race motorbikes to 200. Registrations will therefore be accepted in the order they are received.


CANCELLATION CONDITIONS

• Before the 30/09/04, €600 of arrangement fees will be retained,
• After the 30/09/04, and up to the 15/11, 50% of amounts paid will be retained,
• After the 15/11/04 all sums paid will be due,
• The full entry fee payment made after the 1st of December 2004 will automatically invalidate your registration for the Dakar 2005 ( all categories : Cars, Bikes, Quads, Trucks and Assistance ).


PAYMENTS

Payments for the vehicle flat rate and the entry fees for the race and assistance must be made by bank cheque payable to A.S.O. and, uniquely for non-French competitors, by SWIFT bank transfer.

We draw your attention to the following items:

• Respect of payment dates is imperative.
Failure to comply with this rule will result in a return to the normal tariff of €11,700 for race vehicles and €9,000 for assistance vehicles.
To take advantage of the tariff for amateurs (race and assistance category), registrations must include the definitive names of team members. Any change in name will result in a change in tariff.

ASO will only accept one and the same payer for each vehicle or team who is responsible for making payments at the various payment dates.

• In the event payment is made by bank transfer, a copy of the transfer order must be sent to A.S.O. (Competitors Department) at the same time.

• The file number (D27 etc.) must be legibly written on the back of each cheque or bank transfer.


INVOICING

After registration, a single invoice will be drawn up with the name and address of the payer for all services due to be paid to A.S.O.
Under no circumstances can we invoice several persons or entities for the same file.

Security deposit

The ASO deposit system is designed to cover:
• Respect of security rules and regulations during the race,
• The return of the GPS after the rally,
• The return of the security beacon after the rally (except in the event of assistance).
The security deposit takes the form of a bank card advance made at the time of the administrative verification procedure.

ASO will only accept one and the same payer for each vehicle or team, the identity of the owner of the bank card must be the same as the vehicle or team payer.

The security deposit is not cashed in and the bank card advance will be cancelled after the rally except in the event of:
• Non-respect of security rules and regulations during the race,
• Loss or damage to the GPS,
• Use, loss or damage to the beacon,
(see special conditions described in the rental forms)
