“The first time I heard about the Dakar was when I was born!”

Arkadiusz Lindner is one of the rising stars of the quads category, even if he made his competitive debut on a four-wheeler back in 2007. After starring in extreme rallies for the best part of a decade, the 39-year-old decided he needed a bigger challenge and switched over to cross-country a few years ago. It didn't take long for him to start tasting success, with victory at the Polish Bajas Cup in 2017 and the FIM Bajas European Championship in 2018. After a sensational 2018 season, he has continued to work towards his goal of taking part in the Dakar, placing fourth at this year's Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. One of a group of talented Polish riders in the quads -along with 2015 winner Rafal Sonik, Kamil Wisniewski and Pawel Otwinowski- Arkadiusz is determined to make it to the finish line of his maiden Dakar, and will certainly be one to watch on his Can-Am Renegade.

“My passion for offroad began the moment I bought my first 4x4 car. I wanted to drive where normal cars couldn't go. Then I started taking part in extreme rallies, where we had to cross rivers and very muddy terrains. In 2007 I bought my first quad and also took part in extreme rallies. After a while I felt like I was lacking speed in those rallies so I decided to move into cross-country rallies. The biggest moment of my career so far was winning the European Bajas Championship in 2018. I think the first time I heard about the Dakar was when I was born! Seriously though, when I was a little kid. I've been thinking seriously about starting in Dakar for two years, but I wasn't ready. It took me two years to prepare myself physically and mentally. And also to improve my machine, and first and foremost to find a good team. I've found people I can trust and we've tested our team on a few rallies, like the Silk Way. Now I'm sure that I'm ready to ride the hardest rally of them all. My goal for Dakar 2020 is to complete every stage and get to the finish line. I also want to measure myself against the other competitors. I think it's great that the Dakar is in a new place. Every competitor will have an equal chance because nobody knows the terrains. Saudi Arabia seems to have beautiful places to ride. I'm very excited about the rally.”
