Born in Russia, raised in Israel and now living in New York, Gee Motzkin is a man of the world, a globetrotter who took on bike racing 6 years ago. And the passion that started by enduro before switching to off-road events has now taking him all the way to the biggest and toughest of all rallies: the Dakar. The 41-year old entrepreneur wanted to see if he was up for it and the answer will come in January when the Israeli will be riding a Husqvarna prepared by the Klymciw Racing team.
“It’s the biggest of them all. Since I started riding, I wanted to see how I could do. I met some great people in the Klymciw Racing team and they told me to give it a go, they’ve been very supportive. I guess the physical side shouldn’t be an issue for me, but then again, the Dakar is a different animal. What I’ve done before doesn’t count. There’s that mental part that is so important. You just can’t give up. It really is a jump in the unknown. It would be good to finish. I’m not looking for a result. I trust myself. I trust that I’ll be on top of my own game. I know it won’t always be fun and that the ultimate success is finishing. I’ve received a lot of support from the motorbike community in New-York. They’re living their dream through me.”
