“It’s all new for me”

Giso Verschoor will make his Dakar debut in 2023 after a last minute call to perform driving duties at the SSP team. The former circuit racer has off-road experience from the Morocco Desert Challenge, an event he was again preparing for when the unexpected Dakar chance arose. Helping him adapt will be co-driver and friend Edwin Vegt Van Der with Frenchman Laurent Lalanne the mechanic for their MAN machine.

G.V.: “I was getting ready for the Morocco Desert Challenge but now the Dakar is in between! It’s all new for me and even though Edwin is a friend of mine, we’ve never driven together before. But I think we can do a good job and, of course, our first priority is to finish.”
