Practice makes perfect

Despite only having started racing last year, Mao Ruijin instantly impressed by finishing the 2016 Dakar in 2nd place in the T3 class and 55th overall in the cars. This stunning debut can no doubt be explained by some natural talent, but also by the fact that Mao runs a ski station where he regular holds events for SSVs and 4x4s, allowing him to put in plenty of practice before confronting the white heat of competition. Obviously he will be looking to go one better in 2017 and to that end has teamed up with experienced French co-driver Sebastien Delaunay. With seven Dakars already under his belt and the 2016 T2 world championship to his credit, Sebastien should be more than capable of giving Mao the extra edge he's looking for.
