Christophe Robert: “I shouldn’t be too confident”
Christophe Robert suffers from the Mauritanian syndrome. Four participations, four withdrawals including three in the dunes of Mauritania. One often says that it only takes a sand grain to jam well prepared machines. On three occasions, the Mauritanian sand hit the Honda of the 46-year-old from Lyon, fascinated by bikes and pinball machines. For his fifth Dakar Christophe Robert will again take off with no assistance, not the slightest spare engine in the trunk provided by the organisation. He, who has only discovered Dakar in a four wheeled drive vehicle during the “Légende des Héros” rally, hopes that the 2007 Dakar will at last be the good one…on his bike!
