Fabrice Roche: “Not here to play around”

The ‘’Good Samaritan’’, a nickname that seems to stick to his person ever since his first Dakar back in 1994. That year in the Tenere desert, Fabrice Roche helped out another competitor, Jean-Paul Michelard, with some gasoline before running out of fuel a few kilometres later. An anecdote that symbolises perfectly the altruism of this experienced biker working for SFP (a TV production company), who covers every major international cycling race including the Tour de France on his bike. Despite a slight feeling of nostalgia when he talks about the atmosphere that existed when he first started competing in the Dakar, Fabrice never forgets all those, bikers and drivers, who are deeply dedicated to that spirit of solidarity, starting with his Southern friends Michel Delaye and Luc Pagnon. This year, Fabrice will be on the start line of the 2007 edition, as usual.
