Founded on the 26 November 1949, Record is a national daily of sports news and information whose editorial line is one of impartiality, rigour and independence from all political parties, religious groups, clubs or others.
During its 56 years of existence, Record has become both an important vector for promoting Portuguese sport and a link for Portuguese communities throughout the world. It is for this reason that the President of the Republic, Dr. Jorge Sampaio, awarded the newspaper the title of Honorary Member of the Order of "Infante Dom Henrique" (Order of Henry, the Navigator).
