The town of Portimão is honored to belong to the inner circle of towns hosting the 2006 Euromilhões Dakar.
Portimão is a benchmark in the Algarve, an anchor point in the tourist region of Barlavento, exceptional both for its dynamism and lifestyle as for the multiple activities which punctuate daily life throughout the year.
The Town Hall of Portimão considers that any action focused on sport and tourism is strategic, as proved by the hosting of this sporting event of international renown. We sincerely hope that the 2006 Euromilhões Dakar will bring real benefits for our town, in the form of promotion via media present and the local economic impact directly generated by the large flow of spectators expected.
